Thomas is the principal Historic Insurance Consultant of Historic Appraisal Services, LLC. HAS was formed in 2002 and specializes in historic replacement cost assessments and risk engineering projects for commercial and residential properties. HAS works with both insurance providers and agencies on a regional and national basis.
Thomas began his career with Zurich Insurance in 1997, and joined the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in 1998. He developed his expertise in the valuation and risk management of custom-built and historic homes in Washington DC and Nashville markets. As a premier senior appraiser, Thomas earned the opportunity to appraise some of the world’s most exclusive properties.
Earning a Bachelor of Science degree in history, Thomas has fostered his strong interest in the preservation and restoration of historic properties, unique architecture and urban design. Through years of continuing academic study and field training, Thomas has acquired extensive experience in architectural and engineering concepts.
During his career, Thomas has evaluated billions of dollars of premier commercial properties and private residences. His extensive experience in engineering complex insurance risks, in-depth knowledge of historic construction, architecture and interior design, place him among a limited group of specialists.
